Quaker Submissions to the Public Inquiry into AUKUS
In August 2026, the Quaker Peace & Legislation Committee (QPLC) encouraged Australian Friends and Meetings to participate in the Australian Peace and Security Forum’s Public Inquiry into AUKUS.
In its Action Alert, QPLC invited Friends to consider the implications of AUKUS from a Quaker perspective, including concerns about the arms race and nuclear technologies, as well as questions of human security, health, education, social welfare, democratic processes and perspectives from the Pacific. QPLC also prepared a submission on behalf of Quakers Australia.
A number of Quaker organisations and individual Friends responded to the Inquiry. Their submissions are gathered here, and additional Quaker submissions may be added as they become available.
