The First Nations Peoples Concerns Committee, wish to bring to the attention of F/ friends the following event, which we believe is in alignment of our Testimonies.

Arrernte Custodians and local residents of Mparntwe/Alice Springs have sent an invite for people to come and participate in three days of workshops, discussion, connecting and peaceful protest in July 2026.

We are coming together to say Close Pine Gap, End the US Alliance, and Sacred Land Back.We will be discussing local and national issues impacting First Nations people in the Northern Territory and hearing about their ongoing struggle for justice.

We will also be discussing how to break Australia’s ties to the genocidal US war machine and Pine Gap’s direct involvement in the maintenance of US imperialism.

The event has three days of scheduled activities on the 18-20 July.

Group camping is included for four nights: 17-20 July. All meals are included for the duration of 18-20 July plus dinner on 17 July and breakfast on 21 July.

Transport is available for people who attend by plane.

Central Australia is a semi-arid environment and temperatures can drop below zero at night during winter: bring warm clothes! Detailed information will be sent via email to people who have registered on 11 July. More information is available on our website or you can email us.

This is a volunteer run event and our ability to keep ticket prices low relies on attendees signing up for some volunteer shifts to help make the event run.

We are aiming to make our event as accessible as possible, please contact us if you have specific access requirements. Our camp site and workshop venue have wheelchair accessible toilets and showers.

A Kids / Family Space will be available to use where workshops are being run between 9:30am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be supervised activities running for children running at the same time as workshops.
