Walk For Truth – Sign the open Letter to Prime Minister Albanese

Over the last six weeks, Kerrupmara Gunditjmara man and Former Yoorrook Justice Commission Deputy Chair Travis Lovett walked over 900km from Melbourne/Naarm to Parliament House, Canberra for truth-telling and justice for First Nations peoples.

Arriving on Wednesday 27 May, Travis met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Parliamentarians from across the political spectrum outside Parliament House, presenting Message Sticks from Traditional Owners across the Walk’s journey and an Open Letter signed by more than 12,500 supporters calling for a national truth-telling process.
Almost 500 people joined the final day of the Walk for Truth, joining over 6,000 walkers who have participated across the walk’s journey from Melbourne to Canberra. Across the country, dozens of local community groups also hosted solidarity events — from Boorloo to Magandjin to Kangaroo Island.
