New QA Coordinator Appointment – Joy Bowles (NSWRM)
A letter from the Search and Appointment Committee and the incoming Presiding Clerk, Duncan Frewin (QRM)
Dear Friends,
I am happy to announce that we have now employed a Coordinator for Quakers Australia. The Search and Appointment Committee (myself, Mary Butler, Lorraine Thomson, David Liversidge) were pleased at the calibre of all the candidates for the position. We believe all of them were appointable. However we settled on Joy Bowles.
Joy Bowles is a member of NSW Regional Meeting, living and worshipping in Armidale. She comes with a strong background in administrative and technical support for research in several modes of health work (she has a PhD herself), as well as establishment and governance of the Australian Labyrinth Network.
Joy starts as Coordinator in July, and will be at Yearly Meeting in Melbourne, where Jennifer Burrell will be assisting to ensure a smooth handover. We expect that a fuller story of Joy`s life and interests will be published in due course. Meanwhile Joy looks forward to getting to know Friends from around the whole country at Yearly Meeting.
Duncan Frewin
