A Quaker perspective behind The Hardest Bridge
Quaker filmmaker Howard Grace (Newbury Meeting, UK) is the executive producer of a powerful new documentary,
The Hardest Bridge. The film follows the profound journey of Jo Berry and Pat Magee over more than
twenty years.
Jo Berry’s father, Sir Anthony Berry MP, was killed by an IRA bomb planted by Magee. The film explores how
the two have come to engage with one another in a deeply human and challenging process of encounter,
reflection, and transformation.
The documentary is already making a strong impact, with recent screenings at Oxford University, in schools,
and internationally, including in Taiwan. Australian Friends are now hosting a special online screening with
the protagonists present for conversation.
