Our next Yearly Meeting will be held online on the weekend of Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August, and in the days preceding. When we gather at a venue, our Yearly Meetings are hosted by a Regional Meeting. We are now trialling having a host Regional Meeting for our online Yearly Meetings. For this upcoming online gathering, the Yearly Meeting Organising Committee (YMOC) is working with Queensland Regional Meeting (QRM) as the host.

Read on to hear from the QRM working group about the theme for August’s gathering:

QRM accepted the invitation to host our August 2026 online Yearly Meeting. It is a daunting exercise to embark upon, but we have already experienced the exciting dynamics of working creatively together in bringing our chosen theme for this Yearly Meeting: “Connection in a fragmented landscape”.

There is no doubt that the entire world is in a state of conflict, suffering, disruption, and chaos. Are we on a path to transformation or despair? Friends are deeply affected. How can we sustain hope and walk cheerfully over the world in these times? How do we respond to the call to live out our Testimonies in a spirit of inner joy and integrity regardless of outward circumstances?

In the lead-up to this Yearly Meeting, Friends are invited to reflect on the following four “Landscapes”. We invite you to bring your queries, insights, struggles, wisdom, and yearnings to the YM table to create a banquet of wholeness and healing:

  • Environmental Landscape: facing degradation and destruction
  • Global Landscape: wars and conflicts, continued colonisation of First Nations peoples
  • Quaker Landscape: fragmentation in our Meetings, sustainability challenges
  • Inner Landscape: personal and familial challenges
